Region

The combination of sand and gravel soils found in this area of southern Médoc are ideal to support both Cabernet Sauvignon and a high proportion of Merlot. The Margaux appellation always produces wines with a fragrant bouquet, supple texture and feminine softness.

Tasting Notes

This is the second wine of Château Palmer, one of the top Châteaux of Margaux which was named after a British officer, Major General Palmer, who settled in Bordeaux in 1814. The wine is a very dark crimson colour with a deep nose of black fruits and bitter chocolate. The palate is rich and complex, notes of blackberries, cassis and prunes with smokey and coffee notes.
